International Conference 2026 On Agricultural Engineering and Climate Smart Agriculture
The International Conference on Agricultural Engineering and Climate-Smart Agriculture 2026 was successfully held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 5–6 February 2026, bringing together 210 participants from government, academia, research institutions, UN, private sector, development organizations, and international community. The conference served as a high-level platform for policy dialogue, scientific knowledge exchange, and innovation showcase to address Nepal’s pressing challenges related to climate change, agricultural productivity and sustainability. The conference was conducted at Hotel Yellow Pagoda, Jamal, Kathmandu. High-level participation included the Honorable Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Joint Secretaries from various ministries, Directors General of government agencies, international professors, and the Vice-Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani (Maharashtra), India, along with scientists, industry representatives, agricultural engineers and IDE officials. A total of 42 technical and industry presentations were delivered across six thematic areas, covering agricultural mechanization, water and soil engineering, climate-smart production and animal husbandry, digital advisory services and ICT, rural and renewable energy, and post-harvest and agri-entrepreneurship. The conference strengthened collaboration among stakeholders, generated policy-relevant recommendations, and increased awareness of climate-smart and technology-enabled agricultural innovations, including learning from the AgriPath project of iDE. Also, the conference outcomes provided a strong foundation for follow-up policy engagement, investment planning, and scaling of innovations. The event was organized by the Nepalese Society of Agricultural Engineers (NSAE) and International Development Enterprise (iDE Nepal), with support from collaborating local partners organizations, including Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs' Association (NAMEA), Association of Agriculture Technology Industry Nepal (AATI Nepal), Muktinath Krishi Company Limited, Muktinath Bikas Bank Limited and Nepal Telecom.
